The Warr Foundation offers free tutoring for all student athletes participating in our Sports Academy, because we understand that every child learns differently. Our tutoring program endeavors to create good students ready to take on the challenges of the world fully armed with a solid education. Any student athlete, regardless of GPA may attend tutoring for extra help.  Students need only register online.

EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENT ATHLETES

All student athletes must maintain a minimum “C” average in all classes attended.

If a student athlete’s GPA falls below the required “C” he/she will be placed on academic probation and assigned to a mandatory tutoring schedule based on the number of classes currently below minimum threshold and will remain in tutoring until the GPA meets or exceeds the requirement.

TUTORING SESSION RULES

Student athletes are required to come prepared with all books and materials needed for the subject(s) for which they are needing assistance. Student athletes will be expected to participate fully as our educational assistants work to help the student athlete understand the lesson materials. If a student athlete fails to report to tutoring or is disruptive during tutoring, he/she will be dismissed from the tutoring session.  Continued non-participation or disruptions will result in temporary suspension from the sports program until behavior and academic levels reach acceptable standards.  Our educational assistants will do their best to teach our students the steps to become successful; we will not allow one student athlete to impede another’s opportunity to learn.
